The Choro Handbook is your opportunity to learn the Choro language in a consistent way. Choro’s musicians, students and admirers now have a complete and revolutionary learning tool that has been stoned by more than 20 years of experience by the teachers of the Choro School Raphael Rabello, consolidated in this Manual by Henrique Neto and Dudu Maia. Practical and theoretical knowledge go hand in hand in the Handbook and in a simple, easy-to-learn way, always based on Choro’s repertoire. It also has a historical apparatus, contextualizing some of the intrinsic concepts of the genre. The Choro Handbook is accompanied by a CD with more than 130 tracks of exercises, traditional and unpublished choro songs and playbakcs to practice the concepts learned.

7 strings guitar player, graduated in Music by the University of Brasilia (UNB), works as coordinator of the Brazilian School of Choro Raphael Rabello. He is appointed as one of the artists that has been outlining the forms of the new Brazilian instrumental music. In 2011, he released the CD solo ‘Caminhos Abertos’, and for more than ten years he has been part of the Choro Livre group and has performed alongside artists such as Dominguinhos, Sivuca, Hamilton de Holanda, Paulinho da Viola and Hermeto Paschoal. Henrique has performed on stages from four continents.

Bandolinist, composer and music producer, he was professor of the Brazilian School of Choro Raphael Rabello for five years. In the last ten years he has performed shows and workshops abroad, especially Europe, United States and Canada. And since 2011 he heads the Centrum Choro Workshop, the largest event dedicated exclusively to Choro music in the United States. He is the producer and the presenter of the show “Casa do Som”.
